Vintage Travel Inspired Wedding

Merryl Brown Events created an intimate wedding that brought to life this couple's vision of vintage travel. The ceremony took place at sunset at Montecito Country Club in the grand foyer, softly lit by candles, chandeliers and a grand glowing fireplace. The couple stood before a floor to ceiling window, overlooking Santa Barbara and the glittering ocean as they said their vows. The celebration continued, as guests mingled by the bar, sipping a variety of signature cocktails inspired by the couple's world travel. A gorgeously appointed antique table, laden with vintage Louis Vuitton luggage, giant dove gray 'hot air balloons', antique travel books, piles of old silver, vintage Hermes scarves and faux furs, as well as other elements denoting past and future travels, served as a reminder of the bride and groom's adventurous spirits. In the formal dining room, a long feasting table was set before a fireplace with beautiful tableware and chic dove gray linens. High and low silver candelabrum overflowing with ivory flowers, dozens of mercury glass candleholders and other accouterments created a stunning visual. Each guest found their at their seat a perfume bottle with their name calligraphed on an ivory paper label and a handcrafted antique paper map camellia atop their perfectly rolled napkins, both a nod to Coco Chanel and Paris of an earlier era. The wedding cake was pure perfection, a study in ivory with Chanel quilting, and a cascade of various sized vintage map camellias. This was truly the piece de resistance of the evening. Petit sweets and European candies were later brought out, overflowing on antique silver trays and sterling-footed candy dishes. It was truly a magical evening and captured all that the bride and groom had hoped for on their wedding day.
